Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chips

source: mandiehman on Instagram

Just some random thoughts this week…

My favorite afternoon pick-me-up? A spoon full of peanut butter topped with plenty of (fair-trade) mini chocolate chips! Mmm.

I so appreciate all of your sweet comments and emails after my Pregnancy and Miscarriage, Joy and Grief post. I still need to respond to the comments (I’m a bit overwhelmed by them, in a good way), but thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share in our grief!

After Hurricane Sandy this past week (which thankfully ended up being just a lot of rain for our area), the leaves are pretty much off the trees. I’m so glad we had so much time to enjoy the foliage for the past month or so, and I actually think it’s really pretty with the colored leaves blanketing the ground under bare trees.

I’m so glad to be past the busyness that characterized our September and October. We’re hunkering down to focus on school and enjoy the holidays, and it feels good.

Speaking of holidays…yes, we’re those crazy people who put up our Christmas decorations as soon as Halloween is done. We’ll be doing that this weekend, and I love having them up for a full two months and throughout Thanksgiving and Christmas! {Pictures coming soon.}

Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!

    Wishing you all the best and also a little bit of rest with your loved ones…
    You are such an inspiring woman, getting through whatever occurs to you in such a beautiful, healthy and couragous way…
    You don’t know it but your blog helped me a lot to make it out of depression the past 18 months or so, I even made it back to work now :-)
    Stay who you are and have a soothing and beautiful week-end!

      Thank you so much, Estelle — your comment made my day!

    Mmmm…peanut butter and chocolate chips sound amazing! I’m completely in awe of your ability to share your trials and tribulations so honestly. It’s so inspiring. And I don’t think my husband would ever let me get away with putting up our Christmas decorations this early. I sang a Christmas carol earlier today because it was stuck in my head, and I heard the typical “it’s not even Thanksgiving!” response from him;)

      I love that you responded to each of my random thoughts, lol — it made me smile!

    That’s my favorite afternoon pick me up too! I use natural peanut butter, oh and what is really amazing is swirl in a bit of nutella if you are really craving a chocolate fix.

      I am a card-carrying member of Nutella’s Anonymous….I can’t buy that stuff or I’ll just eat it by the spoonful at an unhealthy rate! ROFL!

    Loved your IG of the nativity set! My husband would stage a revolt if we set up Christmas this early, but I know my girls would love it. :)

    Thanks for the link love! Also so appreciative.
