face painting

A couple of weeks ago, my mom and I took the girls to a local Strawberry Festival after Amy posted on Facebook that it was their family’s favorite summer tradition. We had a lot of fun playing carnival games and riding ponies, but the face painting was just too expensive to do on top of the other activities, so I told the girls we would do face painting at home another time.

When we came home, I hopped on Amazon and found these great Face Paint Sticks for just $4 (I actually think they were less when I bought them).

We gave them to the girls yesterday morning, and they had so much fun drawing designs on their faces. It was a tiny bit messy (not nearly as messy as real face paint!), but it kept them busy for hours, and they had a lot of fun in the process…definitely the stuff summer is made of!

I will be finalizing the site updates today, so please excuse the mess and any broken links while I work through those. Look for an update about new features in tomorrow’s Dear Reader… post!

Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
