reading in her fort

The big girls had VBS at our church all week, so Sean and I took turns taking them (it’s far enough away that we have to just hang out “in town” while they’re there). On the days that I stayed home with the baby  — in an attempt to get some work done, ha! — I built her her first blanket forts, and she absolutely loved having a little space to call her own.

I thought it was ironic that her immediate reaction was to begin gathering stuff to fill it with, but I was happy to see that books made her list of essentials!

Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!

Food {Eat Well, Spend Less}

This month we’re talking about summer produce in our Eat Well, Spend Less series. Here at Life Your Way, I shared 9 tasty zucchini recipes, and Shaina shared 9 ways to preserve summer produce. Be sure to read through these posts from the other Eat Well, Spend Less bloggers for even more great summer produce tips:

    Sweet! Glad you got some one-on-one time together. :) She looks like she is enjoying her alone time. When my girls are without each other, it is fun to see their individual personalities come out more.

    Both VBS programs that I signed the girls up for this year have preschool age, so I am lucky enough to have some quiet “me” time last week and this upcoming week. We actually had way too many volunteers for our church VBS this year, so I ended up not having to do anything which gives me some time for preparing for school which starts in 2 weeks. Somehow, we ended up with a curriculum plan that looks really similar to yours. :)

    Enjoy your weekend Mandi!

      Ooh, yay for time to prepare for school — that is definitely on my list of favorite activities, especially when it’s not rushed or stressful! Enjoy!
