wild dewberries (not quite ripe yet!)
Our family is a bit obsessed with edible plants these days!
It all started with our visit to Camp Highroad in May, and then last week we were excited to discover a large patch of dewberries (or wild blackberries) behind our house. In fact, it’s starting to look like these might actually be growing on a significant portion of our two acre lot, plus the surrounding land! Woohoo!
This week we also visited a daylily farm and enjoyed sampling some of the blooms from various hybrids. We brought three large clumps home with us to plant on our back hill (just so long as we don’t disturb the dewberries!) and I’m looking forward to adding this mild flavored flower to our salads and smoothies in the coming months.
Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
Jackie from It’s a WAHM Life invited me to do a podcast with her a couple weeks ago, and I’m excited to share it with you today. The time went way too fast as we talked about working at home, growing your blog, doing what works for you (rather than all the “shoulds” from other people) and more! Click here to listen.
