(Watching a movie together.)
I was going to spend this post telling you how sick I’ve been this week and how this flu has kicked my butt and threatened to steal my holiday spirit.
But yesterday’s school shooting in Newtown, CT fairly quickly took my perspective off myself, and as I write this, my heart is just absolutely broken for the families and community involved.
I don’t need to tell you how it feels because I’m guessing each and every one of you has experienced those same feelings. I could imagine my children in that school, and it was terrifying and heartbreaking.
In the coming week, I’ll be holding my kids tighter, cherishing the little things a little more. But you know what? The truth is that there will probably still be moments when I get grumpy and short with them and send them to their rooms to play for afternoon quiet time because I need a break, and I’m not going to feel guilty for that either. I’m just gonna love ‘em the best that I know how.
Here are some of my favorite posts from this week (it’s a short list because of said flu). As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
