I like to listen to country, jazz, relaxing music. When I am stressed or need just calmbing, relaxing music, I LOVE Celtic Woman. I like to have music in the background if I am cleaning house or on the computer. I always have it on in the car.

I really need to focus on #2. I have far too many homeless items floating around on countertops and in the corners of my home. Great tips, thank you!

That first question scares me, it would help me get rid of alot of stuff but I’m not sure I’m ready to ready stick to that one. I’m sure I don’t need 99% of the things I own.

Thanks for the comment, Marci. The first questions is definitely the toughest. It is also the most important because it makes organization easier this time… and the next time.

How about “Do I use this?” to start?

Re #1: I ask myself whether something brings me happiness. If I’m keeping it out of a sense of obligation (eg it was a gift; it was expensive), then I know it’s not bringing me joy, and I can let it go.

We recently took another large step forward in organizing and simplifying our home. When guests came over last weekend, the house was so clean and minimal that they thought we were moving out.

As classy as it sounds…total sarcasm…we put them up in the boys’ windows to block out light so they’ll sleep later. :_)

      Hey, whatever works!

for over a decade i’ve always had my throws on a towel rod in the living room. i’ve selected my favorite/most chic styled towel rod in the bathroom section at the store. come home & mounted on the wall where would best go in that current room’s layout. then hang my fave throw of the moment. works out well cause it’s always within reach, plus i’m never worried that it’s dropped on the floor, or in the way. very convenient! ;) enjoy!

Such a great idea, Keely — do you have a picture?

I’m not happy with the new news feed/timeline and the algorithm that chooses “important” posts, so I created a list and put everyone on it, then went through and made sure to select “all updates” for everyone on the list, while deselecting “games” and “comments and likes”. Reading the list looks pretty much like the way the old news feed used to, and I don’t have to look at the ticker. I just wish Facebook would believe me when I want to see ALL updates and will just show them all, not most. I know I’m missing some because I can see them all if I go to a friend’s profile page, which will probably change when all the profile pages change to timelines.

Excellent tip, Kirstenl4w! Were you the one who sent me the link to a video tutorial on this? I can’t locate it right now, but your instructions are easy to follow too, so thank you!
